In the early 1970s, the current owner Lars Werner's father began producing the "Shoemaker Chair." The history of this three-legged stool dates back to the 15th century. Although its shape changed only slightly over the centuries, it was used as a cow-milking stool with a flat seat. Eventually, shoemakers began to carve the seat to fit the shape of their buttocks for greater comfort, and this inspiration led to the current design. The seat is shaped like a person's buttocks, making it comfortable to sit on for long periods, and its three-legged design ensures stability.Source: https://www.truss.jp/
