ASPLUND is a Japanese lifestyle brand launched in 2020 with the concept of "easy-to-use items that you'll want to use for a long time." They develop cooking utensils and tableware through close dialogue with skilled artisans across the country. They use materials from a variety of regions and crafts, from the pottery of Shigaraki, Shiga, to the blade-making techniques of Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata. Their kitchen tools, such as knives made with Tsubame-Sanjo's triple-layered steel, combine tradition and functionality. Their production process is based on direct dialogue between the factory and designers. This collaborative approach, connecting the perspectives of makers and users without a designer, gives them the power to create "tools that people truly want to use."
