LANTERN SHADE Fuji
This is a light fixture that has been given an even octagonal shape by heat treatment alone, without using wire, instead of the circular lantern. It is produced in Mito, one of the three major lantern production areas in Japan. The surface is treated to prevent water and dirt, and the strips are made of environmentally friendly materials such as PET resin and starch paste. Normally, bamboo and wire are used for the strips, but this one is made of PET resin and thin Japanese paper is wrapped around it to create a texture and reduce shadows from the strips themselves.
